The Zambia Road Development Agency (RDA) has awarded contracts to Nzovu Transport Enterprises Limited and Shire Construction Company Limited to construct six toll plazas as a part of the phase two national tolling program.
According to terms of the contract, construction of the first three toll plazas (Lot 2) will be completed within 9 months by Nzovu Transport Enterprises Limited for a total of ZMK 83.9 million.
The next set of three toll plazas is expected to be completed by the Shire Construction Company Limited at a cost of ZMK 74.4 million.
According to Bernard Chiwala, CEO of the RDA, phase two will include all vehicle classifications and will result in the construction of toll plazas in Kafulafuta, Munyumbi, Choma, Ganerton, Sabina, Kamfinsa, and Mwanawasa Stadium.
