According to the Zambia Environmental Management Agency, Rosinvest (Z) Limited intends to undertake tin mining activities in Chirobi village of Mapatizya constituency in Kalomo district.
The information in included in the latest Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) about the proposed tin mining project published on March 23, 2015.
The project site is located in Simwata Chela Chiefdom about 165 km from Mapatizya junction off Great North Road (Livingstone T2).
Mining activities will be done using open pit mining method and the project activities will include removal of overburden material, de-watering, blasting and dumping of over-burden/waste rock.
The lifespan of the Mine has been estimated at 40 years with a possibility of extension if exploration is carried out and more tin resources are discovered.
Rosinvest Zambia Limited is a Private Joint Venture company between Daled Mining Limited and Vidayu Holdings Corporation Zambia Limited who has acquired a Tin Mining Area in Chirobi Village of Kalomo District Southern Province of Zambia.
