According to the Times Of Zambia, fifteen Chinese business executives representing various companies have expressed interest of investing in Zambia Mufulira District, one of the mineral-rich areas of the Zambian Copperbelt Province.

The business executives led by Changfa Mineral Resources President George Huang toured the district on  September 17th 2014 to explore investment opportunities in various sectors.

According to Mufulira District Commissioner Chanda Kabwe, the potential investors are interested in setting up textile, steel and cement plants in the district.

Mr Kabwe indicated that once these projects are fully operational, Mufulira would become a hub for growth in the Copperbelt, while also calling for more local and foreign investors to invest in Zambia.

Mufulira is one of the 10 districts of the Zambia Copperbelt Province, located on the country’s border with the Democratic Republic of Congo.
