2014 Zambia International Energy Conference Seeks Investors And Solutions

The first Zambia International Energy Conference (ZIEC) is scheduled to take place from November 25-27, 2014 and will serve as a platform for policy-makers and stakeholders to communicate the latest developments in the country’s energy sector and discuss any investment and financial challenges that are currently being faced and seek practical solutions.

The conference has been organized in partnership with the Zambia Ministry of Mines, Energy and Water Development; Stanbic Bank; the Energy Regulation Board; the Rural Electrification Authority; and the electricity supply company ZESCO, using a theme of “Power and Energy: Unlocking Zambia’s Investment Potential at 50.”

The conference will be lead by Christopher Yaluma, Zambian Minister of Mines, Energy and Water Development with a speaker list that is set to include the CEO of the Rural Electrification Authority (REA), Geoffrey Musonda; Canadian Solar’s Head of Strategic Alliances and Business Development for Middle East and Africa, Wido Schnabel; Vice-President for power and infrastructure franchise of Standard Bank Group, Jeannot Boussougouth; and Senior Energy Specialist with the Energy and Extractives Global Practice, World Bank Group, Joseph Kapika, among others.

The conference will span three days and is expected include case studies, panel discussions, policy analysis, and one on one meetings with investors.
