The amendment is targeted at strengthening the organization and thus stimulating trade and investment opportunities in Zambia.

Patrick Chisanga, Director General of ZDA, has mentioned that the agency is already in touch with Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Industry regarding amendment of this act.

Mr. Chisanga also mentioned that the agency has a strong commitment towards private sector to help build its capacity stating that “the programmes we conduct target small and medium entrepreneurs as well as large investors”.

The ZDA shoulders the responsibility of fostering growth in trade and investments. The agency established under Act No. 11 in 2006 is focused on economic development strategy for Zambia led by the private sector.
