Zambian Bank Launches New Visa Chip Card

Indo Zambia Bank (IZB) announced the launch of its new Visa debit card enabled with chip & PIN.

The card allows access to over 29 million points of sale terminals and over 1.6 million ATMs worldwide.

According to IZB Managing Director Shankardas Gupta the card will make transactions safer and easier and representation yet another innovation in the market.

IZB Bank was incorporated in October, 1984 is a joint venture between the Government of the Republic of Zambia and the Government of India represented through its three large public sector banks: Bank of India, Bank of Baroda & Central Bank of India.

Each Indian bank contributes 20% share capital with the remaining 40% is contributed by the Government of the Republic of Zambia via the Ministry of Finance.
